We had quite the crazy Sunday morning the other day. I went to go get Ada's bath towel out of the dryer because we were going to take a family shower before church. Well, when I opened the dryer I discovered that all of the clothes were covered in blue ink!!! Blast it, a pen was left in Niels' shorts. He even checked his pockets, took out his wallet and some receipts beforehand, but didn't notice the pen. He can't even remember putting that pen in his shorts pocket in the first place, so it's all a mystery. Anyway, I'm obviously distraught so Niels and I postpone the shower and quickly research how to get ink out of clothes. Keep in mind, Ada is only in a diaper at this point since we were about to bathe. She's playing in the living room while Niels and I try hairspray and nail polish remover to scrub out the stains. While we were doing that, we heard Ada grunting in the next room. We thought, "Oh good, she's pooping. It's a good thing we waited on that shower." A few minutes pass and we're still scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing when I notice, only out of the corner of my eye, that Ada has joined us in the kitchen (where our washer and dryer are). Again, we are still trying everything we can to eliminate the damage done to our clothes, when Ada starts to whine. It's finally at this point that I actually look down at her to see what she needs and I find her on her hands and knees BUTT NAKED! And I say, "Oh my gosh, WHERE is her diaper?!?!" I check the living room and sure enough there is her poopy diaper in the middle of the floor. Miraculously, she must have just crawled straight to the kitchen floor after she took it off and then sat down because the biggest poop smears were on the kitchen floor. There was just one little piece of poo-poo on the carpet.
And here we are, moving out of our apartment in a week and a half AND selling our washer and dryer, both of which get attacked by either pen ink or poop. I was like, "Seriously?!" Despite all of those thoughts that ran through my head, I was laughing pretty hard. The whole poop fiasco cracked me up. Ada is just too cute to get mad at.... at least this first time.
